Adern Nkandela

Adern S. Nkandela is African Grantmakers Network (AGN) Coordinator, heading the AGN Secretariat. Prior, Adern worked as Senior Manager at Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF), charged with leading the Fund’s programmes and regional advocacy work; Executive Director at Children In Need Network (CHIN), an apex body for and network of child development institutions in Zambia; National Expert on SME development under the UNDP Component Six Project assistance to Zambia; Economist at Commerce & Industry, Botswana Government, implementing it’s Financial Assistance Policy for community development, resources generation, and industrial productivity; Projects Officer for Small Enterprises Promotion’s Limited and National Hotel Standards Inspector for Hotels Board at the Ministry of Tourism in Zambia.

Adern’s areas, in précis, include governance, planning, financial management, programme development, network coordination / management, socio-economic development, micro-financing, small enterprises development, impact assessments, research, monitoring and evaluation.

Joyce Ambale

Joyce studied Law at the University of Nairobi in Kenya and has since worked in both Kenya and South Africa in the field of gender and HIV/AIDS. She brings with her experience co-ordinating the Gender and Media Southern Africa (GEMSA) network of individual and institutions who work to promote gender equality in and through the media.

More recently she has worked with the Global Business Coalition Health (GBCHealth), an NGO headquartered in New York. Her role as a consultant involved supporting key member regional and international events specifically facilitating meetings, collating material for use on the organisation’s marketing and communication platforms, preparing documentation and key take-aways for identified priority areas for the events.
