Strategic Framework & Theory of Change
The AGN strategic framework has its objectives designed to permeate all projects, programmes, and partnerships, and it
is therefore on the basis of its strategic objectives that we seek to achieve the institutionalisation and strengthening
of organized philanthropy in Africa, by investing in resilient institutions, capable leadership, and knowledge economy.
To enhance the discourse on changes required for effective African philanthropy to prevail, we therefore believe
in concrete requisite aspects around capacity in coordination, presence of thought leadership, increased support among
key players in philanthropy through building a strong membership and networking, robust engagement of Africans and increased
policy advocacy for an enabling environment. This constitutes our theory of changing African philanthropy.
